FAQ

Practical guidance for calm, consistent wax seal impressions.

What is the difference between matte and glossy wax?
Matte wax cures with lower sheen and hides small handling marks, ideal for understated stationery. Glossy wax has more resin and presents a reflective finish that highlights edges but may show fingerprints.
How many sticks do I need for 50 invitations?
On average, one 12 g stick yields 8–10 medium seals (25–30 mm). For 50 invitations we recommend 6–7 sticks to allow for tests and a few retakes.
Do your stamps work with glue-gun wax?
Yes. Our brass stamps are compatible with traditional spoon-melt wax and with low-temperature glue-gun sealing wax. Always test the first impression to dial in temperature.
How do I prevent the stamp from sticking?
Chill the stamp face for 30–60 seconds or lightly oil it with a lint-free cloth. Press down evenly and pause for 3–4 seconds before lifting.
What papers pair best with wax seals?
Uncoated cotton or linen papers around 120–300 gsm bond well with wax. For envelopes, a smooth but uncoated finish avoids premature release.
Can I travel with wax and tools?
Yes. Keep wax sticks and brass heads in checked luggage if possible. Our travel tins meet carry-on guidelines, but open flames are not permitted on flights.
How do returns and repairs work?
We stand by durable, serviceable tools. If a component fails under normal use, we repair or replace it. Unused goods can be returned within 30 days. See Terms.
Do you customize monograms or logos?
We offer pre-engraved monograms and accept vector artwork for custom stamps. Lead times vary by season. Contact us with your file via Contact.
